Life around here has been crazy. As many of you know, our little Daken broke his forearm (both bones) on April 17th. Nope, not jumping on a trampoline. That would be too normal for our little guy. He has to play gymnast and try to walk on the side of the bed of the truck like a balance beam. Well, he lost his balance and fell on his outstretched hands and broke his left forearm (the transcriptionist in me is dying to call it a both-bone distal forearm fracture - ha ha). Daken knew his arm was facing the wrong way (poor little guy) and so he put it back straight. Then, we splinted it the best we could and took him to the ER.
One of the doctors I have worked for was on-call that night, which I was extremely grateful for. He let us stay pretty close to Daken the whole time while he was reducing the fracture, which I was fascinating with watching. Very, very cool. Anyway, he'll have a long arm cast for 6 weeks (gets it off on May 27th) and then he should be good to go. His cast is very interesting. Started out with blue, but had it over-wrapped with red in the office a few days later. So it's blue and red. If I get around to it, I'll post pictures later. He's been really good about the whole thing.
We also just got done with the school play, which was so very good. Pictures to come later.
Also, my very wonderful husband has decided to take me to see Phantom of the Opera in Las Vegas for our anniversary in June. How awesome is that? I haven't been to Vegas since I was 19. We are so very excited.

Oh, and Happy belated Mother's Day to all the mothers out there!

Both bones, OUCH! And you watched then reset it? Uggg. Good thing I already ate lunch. Phantom = very cool.
