Kapri had her yearly piano recital this week. She was a little nervous because she doesn't really like to practice. :) But, the past couple of weeks, she has been working really hard to learn her piece. She did great! It was really fun to see how far she has come from the beginning of the year to the end. Though she doesn't see the benefit now, she will when she is older, and I tell her she just needs to stick it out. She will be glad someday that she knows how to play the piano.
She has an awesome teacher! Couldn't ask for better! She is very patient and understanding of Kapri, but also firm with her, telling her she needs to practice and telling ME to make sure that she practices. She is also one of my best friends, so that doesn't hurt either. :)

Playing her piece.

All done. Oh yeah.
Can't wait for next year to start! Maybe we'll actually have a piano by then. :) Dylan will be taking lessons too. It's probably time to bite the bullet and have something for them to practice on.
She doesn't realize now how much she will appreciate having that skill alter in life! I hope she can stick to it and practice. I really regret ditching the piano now!
ReplyDeleteI keep telling her the same thing! She just thinks I am being mean, but she'll play for fun. She just doesn't like being made to practice. I'll tell her that Brock thinks she should stick with it. That will make a bigger impression than me telling her.
ReplyDeleteDon't let her quiet. I am so glad I took piano. I just wish we could have found another teacher when mine moved. I don't regret it one bit, today. Keep going.
