Hello all!
When my surgeon saw my test results, he told me he asked the nurse two questions:
#1. Is the patient a woman?
#2 . Is she young?
I guess the answer to both questions is yes (Well, I know I am a woman, I guess I am young too.) He was relatively unconcerned with the amount of flow still going around the device in my heart. The test that was most concerning was the one that tested the amount of blood going to my brain. That's where it stinks being a girl. He told me that estrogen/hormones can cause excess blood to flow through the lungs and up to the brain. Dang estrogen. I suppose I will just have to trust his expertise. He has done thousands of these procedures with what he says is 100% success. Yeah, he's kind of arrogant.
Anyway, he has assured me I won't have a stroke now or heart disease later. He says everything looks good. Yes, there is a slight hole still, but it's as good as it's going to get. No more surgery needed. He wants me to take Aspirin for the rest of my life just as a precaution. I think I can handle that.
The only bad news is that he thinks I will still have migraines, because, if they were going to go away, they should have gone away by now. They have decreased from 3 to 4 times a week to 1 to 2 a month, so I think I can live with that.
Good news all around! Oh, and thanks Krissi for the happy music!!!!! The Ting Tings always cheer me up. I loved Willow's song too! She rocks. Oh, and cheesecake doesn't hurt either. I may have to get me some.
Should I Stay or Should I Go!

Sounds like things will be ok. Glad you don't need surgery again. You should still take it easy and make my brother wait on you hand & foot!(Ha-Ha, like that ever happens!)
ReplyDeleteI'm very glad you don't need surgery, but it is a bummer that the migraines didn't go away completely. :) No more surgery YEAH!
