Maybe It's Just Funny to Me . . .

Yeah, yeah, I know. No updates since December. Pffff. Whatever. I've been busy. Or something. Or lazy. Whichever works.

I do have a quick funny story and may even get around to an actual update some time in the near future.

My two dear sons, Dylan 8 and Daken 6, were having quite an argument about something. As usual, they come to me to settle their differences. (Ha ha. That's a joke!) Anyway, sweet Daken comes up to me and says, in a perfectly serious Kindergarten voice, "Mom, is 'sex' a bad word? Dylan says it is and I say it's not!"

Now, if you know me, you know that I am really trying hard not to bust up into giggles at my cute little innocent boys. So, I dig deep and say in the most motherly way I can manage, "No, sex isn't a bad word."

Daken: See! I told you, Dylan!

Dylan: Well, you're not having it with anyone, so you don't need to talk about it.

Daken: I am too!!!!

Okay, so Mom has to step in and tell Daken that he really isn't and maybe he shouldn't be talking about it after all. Maybe we should save that for another day, like when he's 30.

Now I just have to figure out where Dylan learned about it. Hmmmmm. ;)

  2. So, far no sex talk from my kids. That is freakin funny though. That is one of those stories you will remind him about when he is old enough to be having sex.
